Huia

Young, free and in love with the sea, we are a team on a 1982 steel boat called after the Huia bird. After sailing for three years by many places in the pacific, now the boat needs to get in shape with some love and care. People have always been welcome to come on board and many have been and learned their first sailing lessons with Huia. Part of what we do is make music and circus for the villages in places where they don’t see outsiders, we dream to be able to share much more with them and create a relationship with local people, to learn from them and also teach them about ecological solutions and making elaborated products. Furthermore, we wish to be able to host events where the two worlds would meet with our sailing retreats -to be able to host yoga, music, ceremonies, and much more on deserted islands, as well as beach cleanups. We’ve been doing this for the past 3 years and now as all boats do , we reach the point this becomes expensive, the moment where lots of stuff must be looked after and repaired to continue and some things are hard to recycle, and safety cannot be compromised.

Huia need sails, paint, replace depth sounder electronic, and as much of these things get acomplished, naturally more people can be welcomed in our boat and more we can focus in spreading love… we are young we are free… become one of us, suport us with little, make dreams be a reality so we can help more people to dream.
